Company Background

Founded by Rawdyn Nutting in 2004, CODEBASE was incorporated in 2008. With a long history in software development Rawdyn has worked on some of the earliest, cutting edge E-Learning and E-Recruitment systems. This included Australia’s first online résumé manager as well as an integral role in the Inbox system, for Fairfax Pty Ltd, amongst others.

It was very clear, from past experience, that it was critical to the success of the company we create a system that would allow CODEBASE® to more quickly and efficiently release, maintain and customise their systems. For this reason there was a massive investment made in the driving platform behind all of the products in the CODEBASE® lineup.

This initial phase of the company development was to take almost five years. In that time several key clients came on board to form the basis of the pilot programmes. The pilot programmes have been running successfully in a commercial capacity, in the case of InTray™ since March 2006 and in the case of SKILLBASE™ since June 2009.

Core Philosophy

As well as a detailed business plan, which allowed us to invest so heavily in our intellectual property, CODEBASE® created a set of core philosophies which would govern the way it does business.

This was very important not only from a moral standpoint, but a business one too. We believe that involving clients in all aspects of a project creates a valuable, collaborative working relationship where the client has a greater understanding of the challenges we face in creating and delivering solutions and we gain a greater understanding of their particular requirements in terms of the project and in business terms too. It facilitates in building a team spirit where both the client and the Company really work together to achieve common goals with a genuine interest in helping each other, a real partnership. This obviously has benefits for both parties in terms of productivity and has hidden benefits in reducing client attrition which in turn reduces the Company's client retention costs.
